ALISON CONANT

CANDIDATE FOR THE MMU SCHOOL BOARD

I’m Alison Kosakowski Conant, and I am running for a seat on the Mount Mansfield Unified School Board.

As we enter yet another pandemic year, I want to step up to support our students and educators and ensure the long-term vibrancy of our local schools. Both of my children attend Richmond Elementary School. I am so proud of the way our community has pulled together during this difficult period to ensure our kids are still able to learn, grow, and thrive.

In my professional life, I am a communications consultant, specializing in reputation management, organizational communications, and community relations. I have worked locally and abroad in government, corporate, and non-profit settings, always focused on nurturing relationships and moving forward, collaboratively. From 2011-2017, I served as the Director of Communications and Policy for Vermont’s Agency of Agriculture, and was recently appointed to Vermont’s Clean Water Board by Governor Scott. I am a skilled communicator and consensus builder, who knows how to work with others to get things done.

My husband, Ransom Conant, is a dairy farmer, and we live on the farm that has been in his family since 1854. I moved to Richmond in 2009.
